What the Biometric Devices Replaces or Can Replacing.

The biometric technology such as voiceprint recognition tool is made to replace hand geometry readers or keys. As our voices are really unique due to the shape of our vocal cavities and the way we move our mouths. Thus, it is not easy for someone to access information they are not supposed to. It has been made to ensure more security.

Rather than using passwords (which if someone gets a hold off can easily gain access to data), voice recognition systems are used. This ensures that it is the person that is authorised that gains access through the IT system.

A multi-biometric system however, combines several unibiometric methods together making it more effective. For example if a person had an unfortunate accident and his or her finger got chopped off, then person could then use their voice or face recognition as a means to be be identified and to be allowed access.

Fingerprint recognition for instance is one biometric method which is very significant and useful. It is a very cheap method to utilise. It is now been implemented on laptops which is will eventually replace using the 'CTRL+ATL+DELETE' logging system. This is known as the fingerprint password manager. This is a much better system as finger prints are unique individual on Earth it is almost impossible to replicate and passwords on the other hand can be forgotten, misplaced or easily retrieved.
